SoulCraft @ Google I/O photo report

We are now back in good old Germany after an exciting week in San Francisco and as promised here are some pictures of MobileBits & SoulCraft at the Google I/O conference .. of course on Google Plus after being Google brainwashed for a week :)

Content wise it was great exchaning experiences with over 6000 other developers at this conference and we attending lots of great sessions which will hopefully help to improrve SoulCraft in the coming weeks. We surely have a long list of new ideas now!

So hopefully Google will have us again showing SoulCraft or maybe even a new game next year :)

SoulCraft 0.8.2 officially released

We are very happy to officially announce the release of SoulCraft 0.8.2. In this update we focussed heavily on the actual gamplay and gameflow optimizations – some of the changes influenced by the wonderful Diablo 3 which came out a few weeks ago. Because there were so many changes since our last major release SoulCraft 0.7.x we wanted to take this opportunity to talk a bit about the changes made.

Please also not that we have just started a small little wiki (http://soulcraftgame.com/wiki) and we hope you will help us enter some info about the game in there – thank you!!

Whats new in SoulCraft 0.8.2?

- fix "blob" boss enemy for THD versions
- Improve Item Comparison
- Enable incremental updates
- fix login error (email-adresses where case sensitive)
- more minor fixes


Whats new in SoulCraft 0.8.1?
- scene root control does not crash the whole game
- using the right language identifier in item details
- reduced crystal damage numbers
- crystal does not take damage from player
- fixed the line break in booster shop
- rebalanced buff values a bit upwards
- fixed forge unlock logic
- continue button in booster shop
- reduce winning streak localization (hard coded)
- use new unlocked locations and game modes for soul pathes!
- increased initial timeout to 15 seconds
- fixed rotating "S" while keyboard is opened
- fixed world scene back button


Whats new in SoulCraft 0.8?

Game-flow optimization
- "Continue" buttons now guide you through all important screens
- You will spend less time tapping around in the menu and more time playing!

Completely reworked Item Stats and Comparison
- Added items with Rare, Epic or Legendary quality
- Adding new item stats including Critical Hit Chance, Magic Resistance and Stun Chance
- Character Stats screen now gives a better overview of your stats from the Inventory

Adding Booster Shop
- Double your received Experience and Souls!
- Choose whether you want to be boosted for a period of time or a number of wins

Added "Path of Souls"
- Gain a Soul boost for completing a number of challenging recommended levels in a row
- Chooses levels randomly at the maximum available difficulty
- The Soul Boost stacks up to 100% additional souls
- But beware! The stacks will fall back to 0% if you are defeated!

Lots more including
- enemies and skills rebalanced (lots of stuff)
- more useful hints in the loading screen

SoulCraft 0.7.5 released with new Tutorial and login & sync system

Just in time before the release of Diablo 3, we managed to complete the work on the next update of SoulCraft with version number 0.7.5.

 So whats new?

  • a new tutorial location to learn how SoulCraft and new spells / items work
  • an all-new login & sync system which does most things automatically and does not require new players to enter their email
  • improved balancing
  • lots of other bugfixes & improvements

SoulCraft 0.7.1 released with new unlock progress system

We are happy to annouce that we just released SoulCraft 0.7.1 with a new progress system and lots of other new improvements & features based on your feedback. Please keep it coming :)

 Main features in overview:

  • Better show progress within the game (progress screen)
  • real item shop, current shop stays in there as sales shop
  • improved controls

and of course lots of other smaller bug fixes & improvements.

As you may have noticed on facebook, we have also been working hard on making SoulCraft available for iOS. The good news is: it runs already :) The bad news is: we are not 100% there yet but we hope we can finnish it up in the next few days. Then we will submit it to Apple to have it approved which can also take 1-2 weeks. We will keep you posted!

But now have fun with the best SoulCraft ever :)

SoulCraft Open Beta releases new update 0.7.1 featuring an awesome new progress unlock system

New Progress / Unlock System coming up - beware of character reset!

If all goes well we will upload the next version of SoulCraft this thursday night (European time) and this update will include an all new progress / unlock system. With each gained character level you will unlock new things like new enemies, spells etc.

The new version will also feature an improved inventory & shop which will allow you to buy exactly the spell you want - you no longer have to rely on the "random" shop to get you the stuff you want! So lots of exciting features coming up which we will write in greater detail about very soon.

However this extensive updates makes it necessary to reset all characters. Your accounts will continue to work but you will have to create a new character. SoulCraft is currently in beta after all and we really would love you to test the new progress system. Thank you very much for your understanding!

Of course you will get back all the gold you have bought so far - so nothing is lost here!

SoulCraft 0.6.1 released - awesome start for SoulCraft for all Android

We were pretty happy with the downloads of SoulCraft before the "All Android release SoulCraft 0.6" but yesterday was really amazing for all of us here at the SoulCraft team. As you can see on the chart below - SoulCraft really took off - thank you very much for all the interest to help us in this Open Beta!

With lots of beta testers naturally you found more bugs and thats why we just released a quick release with SoulCraft 0.6.1 fixing the following issues (no new content download necessary):

  • increase speed of character Angel (now always 100% speed, in 0.6 angel was at 85% speed slowly rising up to character level 10 ..but you did not like it)
  • Default control scheme is now fixed, you can change it to dynamic controls in the settings
  • Decrease controller size by 20%
  • Buying Gold on mobile phones actually works now
  • If our server is down, you can still play the game even if you dont have an account yet

SoulCraft 0.6. released for all Android devices, new location China

After having reached over 100.000 downloads only on tegra powered devices, we are happy to announce that SoulCraft is now available for all Android devices.

Adding to that we also added lots of new stuff into this new version - this is a major update as you can see on our roadmap:

  • support for most android devices (including Samsung Galaxy S2)
  • Changed first 15 minutes (different starting location, new spells)
  • Dynamic World Map (scrollable)
  • Change Level / Location unlock logic (now only depends on character level)
  • Improve difficulty level (easier/slower at first, getting harder/faster later)
  • Add China as Gold location (only for Gold players who have bought Gold at least once)
  • Easier/better controls (with easier beginner spells, autoaim for easier spells, )
  • lots of other bugs & smaller improvements
